  1. 1958 – was when Little Rock high school was forcebly intergrated by JFK.
    Lesser known is that the guy escorting him to the door was an asst attorney general named Nicolas Kasenback [sp?].
    He was ‘of counsel’ for the Morristown law firm of Riker Danzig Sherer Highland and Perretti in his later life and lived near me.
    He famously wrote a memo about the escalation of the Vietnam war just after the assisination.
    Also, James Earl Ray may or may not have fired the shot from that window. There is still debate.

    • Ok, Lew – you’re not the competitive type or anything, right??!! The 1958 question referred to the closing of the schools in response to desegregation – I think all the government interaction was in 57. And I know there’s controversy about Ray and MLK, but according to the museum, he was the assassin, and there are cases and cases of evidence pointing to that fact. So I went along with the norm.
